Coconut Cult Probiotic Yogurt

This yogurt has taken the health world by storm. I started seeing it in a few places on Instagram a few months ago, but ignored the hype. Now it's impossible to avoid seeing dollops of this coveted probiotic food smeared all over Instagram! When I was traveling this summer, I checked every city for Coconut Cult. I was dying to try it. Much to my chagrin, I never found it. I debated ordering it online for a while, and I finally gave in after corresponding with the founder online and reading a few articles featuring the infamous yogurt. This is no ordinary yogurt; in fact, I think it contains pure gold... at least it should because the price tag is quite formidable.

When my yogurt arrived, I was ecstatic. I could not wait to create yogurt bowls, put a dollop on a piece of chocolate, and eat it by the spoonful. Yogurt has always been one of my favorite foods because it not only feeds a healthy gut, but it goes with everything. Sweet, savory, just name it and you can incorporate yogurt.

I opened the box, and to my disappointment, the jars were pretty small. They're only 16 ounces and the containers are plastic. This was unsettling because I thought if I paid such a high price, surely the jars would be 32 ounces and glass (I recycle my glass jars and use them for storage). I carefully opened both jars (I ordered the original and coconut cream) for a little taste test.

The only difference between the two flavors is texture. The original is much thinner like a normal yogurt consistency while the coconut cream flavor is THICK. Coconut cream is a bit reminiscent of coconut butter; it basically melts in your mouth in a cool, silky smooth, slightly sweet and probiotic tangy way. Needless to say, I am impressed. I have been eating it by the spoonful, on top of Eating Evolved Coconut Cups, in chia pudding bowls, and on toast.

While it's an amazing product, and I believe in the cult, I probably will never order it again. I simply cannot afford $25 jars of yogurt.
